DDG co-hosted a conference on Armed Violence Reduction and Development in Eastern Africa on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference combined conceptual discussions on relevant Armed Violence Reduction and Development issues in the region with case studies presented by selected participants. Marie Dimond, Deputy Country Director, UNDP Somalia was guest speaker and opened the conference.
The conference resulted in key recommendations to practitioners from Civil Society, Government and UN agencies, on how to address armed violence, facilitate development, and strengthen the linkages between different fields of work.
