Community safety programme in Somaliland

In Somalia's northwest corner sits the unrecognized republic of Somaliland. As war rages throughout the rest of the country, Somaliland enjoys a fragile level of stability.

While stability levels exceed those of neighbouring areas, resource scarcity, clan conflict and interpersonal disputes contribute to high levels of armed violence.

Small Arms & Light Weapons (SALW) and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) remain pervasive.

Recognising the ongoing struggle for human security, DDG has implemented a dynamic, multi-dimensional community safety programme that aims to reduce armed violence.
