Global Alliance on Armed Violence (GAAV)


The Global Alliance on Armed Violence (GAAV) aims at becoming an alliance of communities, networks and institutions working to prevent and reduce armed violence around the world. An interim committee, consisting of key organisations working on armed violence around the world, is in the process of setting up the alliance. It consists of the following organizations:

  • Action on Armed Violence (UK);
  • Balay Mindanaw Foundation (Philippines);
  • Danish Demining Group (Denmark);
  • Handicap International (France);
  • IKV Pax Christi (Netherlands);
  • Instituto Igarapé (Brazil);
  • Instituto Sou da Paz (Brazil);
  • International Action Network on Small Arms (UK);
  • Quaker United Nations Office (Switzerland);
  • Women’s Right to Education Programme;
  • National Working Group on Armed Violence in Nigeria (Nigeria);
